Electric Touring Cars?

Hot on the heels of Seat announcing an all electric touring car it's time for a #SundayDebate!
Turn your speakers up to watch the video and then you decide!
Since the 1980's motor racing fans have been proud to be known as Petrolheads.
Nothing quite beats the thrill of smelling those petrol fumes, hearing the engines firing up in the pits, and feeling that adrenaline rush as the cars roar past you.
Apparently though we're all going to have to get used to watching large scalextric type vehicles whoosh silently past us if we venture near a race track.
If the announcement of an all electric touring car by Seat is anything to go by then residents living close to track circuits are going to go crazy complaining about the sound of silence as they sip their Lidl bought Gin and Tonics.
Surely an all electric touring car series is to be welcomed though isn't it?
21st century technology being driven at great speeds for our viewing pleasure whilst saving the planet is a good thing isn't it?
Surely it won't make a difference to fans would it? I mean if fans wanted the roar of the engines the organisers could play piped engine noises through the track side speakers couldn't they?
HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I might be a dinosaur but guess what?
I'm proud to be a petrolhead and always will be!!
I'll do my bit to save planet earth by recycling etc etc, but when I want to enjoy myself I go racing.
I won't even get into the "how much damage does it do to the environment to manufacture 1 battery?" argument, because I don't know the answer, I just want to enjoy my petrolhead experience!
I will always consider myself a petrolhead because I enjoy the sights, smells, and most importantly, the sounds of racing, what do fans of electric racing call themselves?
Regardless of age I defy anyone (who has been to a race meeting and not just watched on TV) to say they prefer the electric racing experience more than the fuel filled adrenaline rush of a BTCC or GT meeting.
Am I right or am I right?
